One extra JPG, one distance calculation: how a bass-reactive portal made spring and winter share a frame
The temporal portal — a bass-reactive radial hole in the spring layer that reveals a winter panorama underneath — cost one JPEG, one per-pixel distance check, and three lines of bell-curve maths. The seasonal shift was already in the file system.
The portal blooms once at halfway. After that, the bass punches holes in winter.
A bass-masked radial portal already puts winter behind spring — quiet sections show spring, bass hits show winter through the hole. This sprint added the structural move that was missing: at exactly the midpoint of the track, the two 3904×1088 panoramas trade places. The second half runs the same geometry with the seasons inverted.
The spring panorama has winter underneath it: audio-driven temporal layering
Two panoramas, identical dimensions, stacked front-to-back. The spring layer carries a radial cutout whose radius is driven by bass amplitude. When bass hits, winter shows through. The background is not a backdrop — it is a temporal device indexed to audio rather than time.
