AdSense called it low value content. The fix was structural: hub pages, media formats, rate article honesty.
Google rejected the UK Calculators AdSense application on content grounds, not ads configuration. Three structural problems drove the verdict, and fixing all three took three weeks before the re-review went in.
The Disclaimer Page Was Schema-Correct and Footer-Linked. Google Had Never Seen It.
AdSense flagged five legal pages as low-value content after the 8-pillar map closed. The technical audit came back clean: HTTP 200, index/follow, canonical self. The issue was that every one of those pages was linked exclusively from the footer. Footer links don't transfer crawl weight the way body prose does.
The ultracode review confirmed no technical blockers. The fix was six paragraphs of body prose.
PR #153's ultracode review of five legal pages and /stamp-duty-calculator returned HTTP 200, index/follow, and canonical self on every one. The GSC telemetry digest still listed all six as URL unknown to Google. The problem was not technical. Footer links do not transfer crawl weight the way body prose does.
Brand name or general name: the catalogue has no third option
Two card corrections arrived from the phone within the hour. The Uigen card was carrying a name the repo README hadn’t updated since January. The supermarket card was describing the wrong project entirely. Both sat in the same middle-ground: specific enough to be wrong, not sourced carefully enough to catch the change.
The calculator passed every technical check. Three AdSense rejections later, the hub pages were the problem.
Three identical 'Low value content' rejections, all with empty policyIssues fields and an authorised ads.txt. A 15-agent root-cause review pointed at the content estate, not the calculator logic. The fix was architectural, not compliance-oriented.
