The og:image that wasn't there: blank WhatsApp previews and a pre-ship check no CI runs
Sharing a captainrandom.co.uk album link on WhatsApp returned a blank white card. The site had structured data, a navigation spec authored by 16 parallel agents, and data-driven course stubs. It had no default og:image. The gap was invisible until a real phone surfaced it.
Four fixes to pass AdSense: Google scores the estate, not the page
The UK Calculators readiness audit scored 7 of 8 green before submission. Eight days later, AdSense rejected the site on content quality. Closing the gap to re-submission required four separate fixes — telemetry, thin surfaces, media diversity, and hub listings — because Google scores the estate as a portfolio, not page by page.
The sourcing step was always the bottleneck. Day 6 moved it into the cron.
For five days, every ukcalculators claim block was hand-sourced by the operator from individual gov.uk pages. On Day 6, the cron polled the gov.uk Search API live for the first time. The sourcing method changed. The claim-block discipline didn't.
AdSense low-value rejection: thin pages, empty hubs, and six SVG diagrams
UK Calculators was rejected for low-value content on 10 July — ads.txt was authorised, so this was purely a content-quality judgement. Three concrete moves addressed the specific inventory-value criteria: expanding thin calculator landings, adding SVG diagrams across the pillar estate, and populating empty hub pages the rejection identified.
AdSense readiness: the checklist caught one gap, the reviewer found another, the sweep found a third
Seven out of eight on the automated readiness audit, then rejected for low value content anyway. The fix required three rounds: media diversity closed before submission, hollow hub listings after rejection, and a site-wide sweep that stripped fabricated trust signals the structural checklist had no way to catch.
