The hire strip closed the floor
GA4 showed one desktop visitor — thirteen return sessions, seven minutes on /work/, nowhere to act. The hire strip shipped on July 25th and closes the page. This is what was built and why.
The timelines note that was filtering out the right prospects
The /contact/ page carried a note about timelines, written to set expectations and catch poor-fit enquiries before they became calls. Re-read through a prospect’s frame, it wasn’t catching poor-fit enquiries — it was rejecting good ones.
The portfolio had a shop floor. It just didn't have a till.
GA4 revealed one desktop visitor with 13+ sessions, seven minutes on /work/, and nowhere to act. A week later: hero band as shopfront, /work/ as the aisle, hire strip as the till. The retail frame isn't a metaphor — it's a diagnostic tool.
I wrote quality signals. They landed as rejection, ambiguity, and a wrong name on the record.
A note on timelines on the /contact/ page read, to a prospect, as a closed door — not the quality signal I'd written it as. Across /contact/, /creative/, and /learning/, the same gap kept appearing: copy written from inside the writer's knowledge of the intent, with that knowledge doing load-bearing work the prose itself wasn't.
No till at the end of the sales floor
The GA4 cohort showed one visitor, thirteen sessions, seven minutes on /work/ — and no way to act on the decision they'd clearly formed. The structural gap had already been diagnosed. This documents what was actually shipped to close it.
